Understanding Your Near-Death Experience (NDE)

Facilitators: Peggy Lesniewicz, Ph.D., LPCC-S and Linda L. Smith, J.D., Ph.D., M.A., P.C., are licensed professional counselors with experience counseling clients who have had a NDE and other spiritual and transpersonal crises.

This workshop is for those who have had a Near-Death Experience (NDE).  Researchers estimate that 15 million Americans have had such an experience after near-fatal accidents, heart attacks, or other medical emergencies. As medical technology improves, increasing numbers are reporting such experiences. At this workshop, you will learn what the research has to say about these experiences along with ways to cope with, find meaning for, and integrate these experiences into your everyday life. Time will be allowed for personal sharing of experiences.

Cultivating Positive Potentials in our Daily Life

Every thought we have, word we speak, and action we take, create imprints for future potentials that will manifest in our life.  The way we experience these potentials can be pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral.  John Bruna will be sharing from a Buddhist perspective how we can plant the seeds that ripen the positive potentials within ourselves.

John Bruna (Jangchub Chophel) is a counselor, educator, and spiritual teacher. In additional to other professional pursuits, John has been cultivating his spiritual path since 1984. A teaching by His Holiness the 14^th Dalai Lama inspired him to become an ordained Buddhist monk.  Ordained in the Tibetan Geluk tradition, John spent more than six years as a monastic. Having returned to life as a lay teacher, John’s personal mission statement is “to facilitate teachings in an accessible and practical way that help people live a meaningful life in accordance with their own principles and belief systems.” Currently John is the director of the Gaden Shartse Cultural Foundation and spiritual mentor for the Nying-Je Lam Meditation Center.

Walk Sylvania

Each week we will walk a two mile route in Sylvania: exploring parks, Lourdes Campus, neighborhoods, our business community, Flower Hospital, parks and a few surprises.  Drop in for a week or come for all ten weeks.  Come experience the restorative benefits of walking and build awareness of what is around you. We will be walking at a moderate pace, for both exercise and observation.  Beginning and ending at Harmony in Life.  Walk Sylvania registration fee $5.00 includes pedometer and walking journal.
