Description of Yoga Classes:
What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga is an ancient practice that promotes health for the whole individual. Yoga, meaning “to join”, incorporates gentle stretches with conscious breathing and relaxation techniques to create a body-mind-spirit experience. The vast benefits of yoga include increased flexibility, strength, balance, focus and improved sense of well-being. People of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can do yoga.
Benefits of Hatha and Gentle Yoga
What is Gentle Yoga?
Gentle Yoga is a great place for those who just want to take it slower. Classes focus on releasing tension, connecting with the breath and working with the joints. Gentle Yoga brings balance to a hectic schedule, and classes are appropriate for students with limitations.
What is Intermediate Yoga?
The Intermediate Yoga class will weave in sun salutations and other vinyasas with longer holdings and variations of traditional poses. Explore arm balances, inversions and backbends. Experience is required for this class.
What is PiYo™?
“PiYo ™” is a dynamic blend of Pilates, yoga, and athletic-based strength drills which help you burn calories and build muscle! While focusing on the mind-body connection, PiYo ™ safely increases your strength, balance, flexibility and agility. From beginner to advanced, each full-body workout is designed with all levels in mind. Modifications help each person work at a level that is comfortable yet challenging for him or her. No prior Pilates or yoga experience is necessary.
What is Yoga with Jill?
A soothing yoga class appropriate for all levels including beginners, which allows the breath to guide the body through a series of dynamic yoga poses intended to increase flexibility and strength in the body, bring clarity and focus to the mind, and an enhanced awareness of peace and stillness within the soul.
What is Yoga and Me?
Yoga and Me is a Gentle Hatha Yoga class for the Midlife Woman - Regain, rejuvenate and maintain energy, vitality, flexibility, muscle tone and peace of mind! No prior yoga experience needed - open to midlife women wanting to maintain youthful zeal and enjoy a sense of community and fun! Gentle hatha, Ayurvedic, and chakra yoga combined with peaceful meditation.
What is Yoga with Weights?
Yoga with Weights is designed around a format of centering, pranayama, warm up and cool down with an intense work out sandwiched in between. We will be doing regular yoga poses for building strength and flexibility along with adding weights to some of the poses. Please bring your own weights anywhere from 2 - 8 pounds. The heavier weights will be used to build bicep and tricep strength, while the lighter weights will be used as we hold regular yoga poses to build strength and endurance. The class will end with a 15 minute relaxation/savasana which feels absolutely blissful after working the body. Feel free to come and try the class even without weights to see if you like it. Modifications will be given for beginners. Become a STRONG warrior!!
What is Yoga with Tina?
Yoga with Tina is a Hatha Yoga class. This class emphasizes yoga for healthy backs and strong core. We will spend a good deal of time strengthening the low back by stretching the hamstrings, strengthening the core and gently challenging the low back. Many students notice significant improvement in their back pain, as well as increased low back and core strength.
What is Yoga for Every Body! with Guided Relaxation?
Class focus will be on creating balance and harmony of spirit while building physical strength, flexibility and alignment in the body. A wonderful deep relaxation is included at the end of every class to send you peacefully into the world. Open to all levels of experience. Beginners welcome!
What is Chair Yoga?
Chair Yoga, considered a gentler form of yoga, uses a chair for additional support. Most of the exercises are done while sitting on, leaning on or holding onto a chair. This makes it a great way to practice yoga for people of all ages and those with limited mobility.
What is Kids Yoga?

Because of her strong passion to be in excellent health, her love of eating healthy clean food and her deep belief in positive thinking, she has worked at Claudia’s since1993 to have the opportunity to share her many secrets of how she stays young, healthy and happy.
Her teaching approach is of a very gentle, loving, compassionate healing nature.
Through breath work, Reiki and gentle stretching she guides her students into the present moment, which gives them an opportunity to experience the presence of peace throughout the whole session and out into their daily life.
Tina Ferner is a licensed dietitian, licensed massage therapist, certified yoga teacher, and dog trainer. She has been employed by St. Vincent Mercy Cancer Center for 20 years first as a dietitian and now as Coordinator of Mercy Cancer Center's Integrative Medicine Department. She has a wide range of teaching experiences: oncology massage, yoga and fitness classes for cancer survivors as well as the general public, meditation and reactive dog training classes.
Tory Jacobs - is a certified Hatha Yoga and Yoga Playgrounds (K-5) teacher. She loves to teach classes that uplift the spirit, bring tranquility to the mind and restore suppleness to the body. Along the way she hopes to help people in their individual journeys of self discovery on and off of the mat!
Her philosophy is simple: Every body is beautiful; coming with its own unique set of gifts and challenges. Mastering these dualities within ourselves physically and spiritually is how we grow into the fullest, most complete versions of ourselves. Learning to accept our difficulties and nurture our souls helps to lessen the stress factors in our daily lives. This in turn leads to a longer, healthier and happier life. The key has been within you all along. All you have to do is turn inward. Yoga helps to do this by quieting the mind through focused breathing and exercise. It is in this stillness that one can become most in touch with the inner self.
Tory enjoys sharing the gift of deep relaxation with her students through breathwork and guided meditation techniques. Classes will be tailored around the level of the students present. Beginners are always welcome! The new to yoga student will be in an environment where they can feel completely at ease to experience all that yoga has to offer. Come join the fun!

Kris Kober is a native of Toledo, Ohio and currently lives in Old Orchard with her husband, Jared, and beloved dog, Riley. She attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, where she majored in Political Science and was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and dance team. Upon graduating from college, Kris attended law school at the University of Toledo where she graduated in 2003. Given the high-stress atmosphere of law school and her current legal career, Kris heavily relies on exercise to help relieve stress and stay focused in life. In 2001, she became a certified Spinning and Pilates instructor, and began teaching classes at the UT Recreation Center. She also started practicing yoga and PiYo ™ in an effort to further strengthen her mind, body, and soul. In 2008, she became a certified PiYo ™ instructor, and currently teaches several classes a week. In addition to teaching Pilates, PiYo ™, and Spinning, Kris enjoys training for road races and triathlons, and hopes to complete a full marathon next year!
Jill Lashley - is a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and Registered Nurse. Since 2007, she has completed three, two week courses at Creative Health Institute where she learned the living food lifestyle and healed from auto-immune disease solely through food and lifestyle changes.
Jill knew early on that yoga was her path. Experimenting with different techniques in her teenage years later led to a dedicated asana and meditation practice. She prefers to practice yoga and meditation without pre-conceived notions as to its outcome, so that the practice is both experimental and boundless. She hopes to show other people how yoga can enhance their lives.
Rolinda LeMay, M.Ed., LC – is nearing completion of schooling to become a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Practioner. Rolinda has over 20 years experience public speaking as a formal and informal educator and workshop leader and a background in the natural sciences. In her personal life journey she discovered the synergistic power that the combination of art and journaling have in the healing process. She offers Visual Art Journaling workshops, and small group classes for those wanting to learn how this profoundly powerful practice can help them to successfully navigate life’s transitions, health ups and downs and best of all – serve as a tool of intention, self-reflection, personal growth, change, and positive manifestation. Rolinda began to incorporate Ayurveda into her own health and healing regime and found the timeless wisdom of this traditional form of natual healing from India to have profound effects on the body, mind and spirit. She conducts workshops, classes, and offers individual consultations to educate groups and individuals on how they may begin to build an Ayurvedic lifestyle and incorporate Ayurveda in ways to benefit their overall wellbeing.

Tammy Warren of MUSE Yoga: Tammy Warren began a personal journey with Yoga several years ago. Seeing the amazing benefits the energy had in her life, she continued her practice and study and is now a Certified Yoga Instructor.
With the intention of guiding clients in their own growth and locating the divine inside themselves, Tammy encourage students to make personal choices in their yoga practice and to develop skills to help them listen to their bodies. Leading her students to discover body awareness, establish a relationship with their breath, and develop a compassionate and joyful attitude towards themselves and the world around them that is her inspiration and mission as a yoga teacher.
Tammy’s group yoga classes are taught in the flowing Vinyasa style and emphasize the principles of alignment. Focusing on connecting with the breath, these yoga classes become a moving meditation and a dance of the inner self. The classes deeply explore pranayama (breath), asanas (postures), and relaxation techniques in a positive and tranquil environment.By encouraging proper body alignment, Tammy’s students are working in the safest and the most challenging way. A number of variations are given to accommodate different levels within one class. A dedicated practice helps to improve posture, increase strength and flexibility, release tension, develop new physical awareness, and heighten concentration. Tammy guides her students to explore the union between the body, mind, and spirit and with this opens the door to self-discovery.
